I'm deep into this one and stuck. I'm working on a front load Kenmore elite HE4 electric dryer. The issue is it will shut down after 20 seconds, reset and start turning after another 20 seconds off and shut down again after another 20 seconds running. After 3 attempts the dryer shuts down and all indications shut off.
Background:
Dryer was not drying completely after 2 full cycles. Removed lint from exhaust tube and cleaned discharge chute. Dryer worked well for 6 to 8 loads and then started shut down issue with burning smell. Dryer was opened up and large amount of lint cleaned from inside of unit. After complete cleaning, unit still goes into the shut down/reset cycle. I can hear a relay/switch closing when the unit starts back up but cannot locate what is clicking. It sounds like the high limit temp switch but it Ohms out OK. The shut down occurs at the exact moment the heater coils turn on. Heater shuts off and drum stops immediately, for the first two cycles the unit stays powered up on the control panel, after 3rd attempt she goes dark.
Troubleshooting so far:
Entered into diagnostic mode, no codes, all indications normal.
Checked door switch, normal.
Checked Thermal cut-off and high temp limit switches with VOM, closed when cold and closed when the unit shuts down.
Tested Thermistor, 13.2K Ohms installed, it goes to 8.6K if I press it into the palm of my hand.
Tested Thermal fuse, Ohms out closed.
There is very little if any heat getting to the drum, so I doubt the thermistor or fuse are the issue.
Unplugged and plugged back in numerous times (electronics reset).

That's about it, any help appreciated.
