Vent fan starts without any warning. I can't turn it off until I pull the plug. The air deflector doesn't open the fan just blows high.

Gene Thanks for the quick reply. The fan starts with nothing cooking on the stove or in the oven,or not even recently used. We can be sitting in the living room and it will just start blowing. The only way to stop it is to unplug the unit. Thanks

Open the control panel and check the thermostat (#85 on the diagram) for continuity. It should be "normally open" - no continuity when it's cold. Gene.
