MY Whirlpool oven won't turn on bake when depressing the bake button. Instead the broiler option comes on. When pressing the broiler button the broiler comes on as usual. It's like having two broiler buttons. Depressing either button starts the broiler cycle. The bake option never comes on and shows the broiler option instead. Everything else seems to operate as normal. No error codes are shown. Any ideas??

Here are your parts
Parts for Whirlpool RBS270PDB1 Oven - AppliancePartsPros.com

See the attachment for the tech sheet.

It sounds like a control board problem.

Also it might be the control panel/keyboard. Unfortunately I cannot eliminate it as a possible cause as they do not publish the key pinouts so it cannot be checked.

Thanks. I had about figured out that the problem was in the micro processor which is not available anywhere unless I can run across a used one. I know a computer geek who has repaired automobile processors and he is willing to take a look at it. How do I get the control panel and processor out? Do I have to remove the unit from the wall? I can't find a dis-assembly manual/ procedure online.
Thanks

Below is a manual, although it is for a double oven I think yours is basically the same.
