I replaced the drain hose, but can't seem to get the strain relief on the back in place without breaking? This drain hose is continuous from the pump to the hose outlet and I can't seem to get the hose in the strain relief part in such a way that i can insert into the back of the machine?

I have not had this problem and the only thing I can think of is that you may have been given the wrong hose. I suggest you contact the APP parts department (this forum is manned by volunteers and we are not part of APP) and provide them with both the model number and serial number and see what they say. If you bought the previous hose from this site you will be able to return or exchange it.
