Hi everyone. I need some help here. I'm trying to get to the tub seal to replace it on my gtup270em1ww GE unitized washer and dryer. I was able to remove the stubborn spanner nut. But every video I see about separating the inner tub from the outer tub shows a big gap between shaft and tub. That's not my case. I attached picture. What do I do now? Instructions just say that once I remove 1 11/16 hex nut then I just pull. Not working! nandologia attached the following image(s):

Is that corrosion between the shaft and tub? If the shaft is steel and the tub aluminum then most likely that is the case. Try using some lubricant. I am not a appliance repair person, but that is what I would try next. Water, aluminum and steel together are a bad combination for corrosion.

Thanks for the reply. Found some liquid wrench in the storage. I'm waiting to see if it'll work
UPDATE: nothing. Still not coming out

Next thing I would try is tapping the tub by the shaft and see if you can break free the corrosion. Another thing I might try is to put some sort of hook into the holes in the tub and see if I could rock the tub a bit to break the corrosion hold.
Again, I am not a service tech. Just some suggestions that are up to you.
