We have a Neff[UK Ltd U1442 oven, which has worked fine for the past 6/7 years. A few months ago we had a power cut and when the power was restored the oven made a whirring noise which seemed to come from the electronic clock. After pressing the function selector a few times it stopped. But over the past few weeks this whirring noise keeps coming back, in th middle of the night a couple of times and only way to stop it is to keep pressing the function button. Any thoughts on how we can stop this happening. Thanks

The surge may have fried the control board. It only takes around 10 volts to fry an electronic control board. A static charge can only be felt at around 3,000 volts, so you can see it doesn't take much.
