GE updated the design of the ice bin to include what I call an "ice shield" such that, when the auger is operating, ice cubes don't have a tendency to stack up and eventually be pushed out over the top front of the bin.

Here's a picture of a newer bin: http://1drv.ms/1K4gDPG

Is there a way to get just the shield or do I need to buy the whole bin?

The exploded views of my fridge at the site don't seem to include the shield, but it's entirely possible I'm missing something.
