The house had a power outage. When it was restored the micro blinked on and off. So I went to restart it. Hit clock as it asks, no response on the keypad. None, on any keys. Unplugged and let sit for hour, same result. Let sit for day, same, plug it in, prompt comes up to reset clock. No response on any button. Then I get the code of death....F3. Can the pad really go out because of a power failure? It was working great prior to simple power outage.

Open the control panel and unplug the key pad ribbon from the control board. Clean it using a pencil eraser. Do not use an ink eraser. You can clean the connector on the board gently using electronics contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol and a tooth brush. Do not reconnect until the solvent evaporates.
If it would not help then the key pad has to be replaced. If you need the correct part number for the key pad then post the complete model number of the microwave and the color of the control panel.

Thank you very much Gene...is there an online manual or diagram somewhere that shows me how to access the control panel? I did some more looking and it says my micro's manufacture date was 2002.

You have to remove the top grille first.
