Hello Tim. Is it the one located on the magnetron inside the microwave cavity?

Thank you Jeff.

Is that part supposed to show continuity when new? I had already replaced it with new one and when I removed it it's showing no continuity.

What could possibly cause it to blow?

This is the HOOD THERMAL CUTOUT. This cutout will protect the touch control from excessive heat by turning the vent fan on at low speed. If the surface units of the range are used for long periods of time heat will build up and could damage the microwave control. In order to prevent this a thermal cut out is installed on the duct behind the control. This cutout will close (158'F- vent fan energized) and open (104'F- vent fan de-energized) depending on temperatures it senses.

You must have replied while I was editing my post.

Can it possibly cause no heat issue that I am experiencing?

If not, do you believe issue is attributed to transformer?

I want to make sure I check other things first before spending a lot of money on the part.

Thank you,

I dont think it would cause your issue as it should test open at room temp. You most likely have a "high voltage" side malfunction. Transformer, diode, magnetron, Capacitor. You will need to be extremely careful if you decide to test the components with a multi meter, Very high residual voltage is present, so make sure you remove power to the microwave and short across the terminals on the capacitor. The magnetron should have a reading of less than 1 ohm resistance across the two terminals, and an "open" circuit between each terminal and chassis ground. The diode/rectifier should have a resistance reading in one direction only, no resistance, or resistance in both directions indicate a faulty diode. You will test the transformer for ohms. I am attaching the tech sheet so you can see the resistance values on the wiring diagram.

Thanks Jeff.

As I state, I have already replaced, capacitor, diode, magnetron and only part that I haven't replaced is transformer.

Before ordering transformer I will test it out. Besides transformer, anything else you can think of? As I said microwave works perfectly fine expect having no heat. It would be painful if we have to order a new one as I couldn't find the one in 29.5" in width.

Thank you,

Hi Jeff,

I thoroughly removed everything apart again then tested the microwave again. Miraculously it's working again!

I suspect loose connection. Looks like culprit was bad magnetron/diode as I tested it with old capacitor.

Thank you again for your support. This is the only place I found where I can get 100% support real time.
