My new GE Refrigerator has never worked correctly. The freezer made ice but it melted, ran down and refroze all over the freezer. My husband had a brain tumor diagnosed the day the fridge was delivered so I didn't have time to address the issue. This was 2008. He died a year later and we were deep into the recession so I couldn't afford a repair. I have been online for all the years since and have never found a case where a GE refrigerator with the same problem was successfully repaired. I believe I was sold a defective refrigerator; I was told it was a floor model, not a used appliance.

A year ago I replace the ice maker and the refrigerator appeared to work correctly for about two weeks. I awoke me one night making lots of loud noise which continued over several days. Then it went back to melting ice. Since I have not used the ice maker at all, keeping ice in a plastic bag in the bottom of the freezer. Over the last year the freezer temperature has risen to 11 degrees and the refrigerator temp has risen to 44 degrees. It won't adjust any lower.

According to the information I have found online; there is a lot of it, I could spend thousands and still not have a working refrigerator. My question is has anyone ever had a successful 'fix' for this model or any of the many refrigerators with this problem?
