The light went out on our refrigerator side of our Frigidaire side by side. I purchased a replacement light bulb and installed it but it did not work. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

Before I start looking for the part on your website I need to have an idea of what went wrong to order the right one.

Thanks for your assistance.

Here are your parts
Replacement parts for FRG FRS3R5EMB4 | AppliancePartsPros.com

First I would check the replacement bulb for continuity with a meter.
Is not that uncommon to get a part that is no good right out of the box.

Next would be the socket itself.
Unplug the unit.
Look into the socket, at the bottom is a small tab, it is the power side of the socket. Bend it up slightly. Sometimes it does not make contact with the bulb. Be careful not to bend it to the side as the sides are ground and you will create a short.
Install a bulb.
Plug the unit in and give it a try.

Next would be the door switch or pull the socket to check it's wires are OK.
