Dear friends,
This Kitchenaid microwave hood with fan has the appearance of not being plugged in. There is absolutely no power as if the wall outlet is dead - which it is not. This sympton of no power appeared after someone slammed the door in anger - IE very hard. Microwave just went dead - no lights, fan, keypad power -nothing. Im assuming it has got to be the power supply or a fuse ?
Previously (after I bought it ) it had an intermittant power problem where I would turn it on and the Magnetron would not run ( IE no heating, fan would run , but light would be on, keypad worked and turntable would turn. These symptoms disappeared and it worked fine for a year or so until this issue.
Any ideas what to check ? I looked on line & noticed that the power supply comprises a transformer and some capacitors ..anything particularly susceptible to shock ?

Hi Joe,
I have the same problem as you have mentioned. I shut the door or slammed the door one day, and there is nothing working on the microwave.
Were you able to resolve your issue ?..
I read in several articles that the door locks would be the ones that needs to be replaced.
But I thought i will check with you before ordering the replacement parts.
Have you had any luck or could you please let me know what you did to fix the issue ?
Look forward to your response.
Thanks, Joe.
