Gene, I have the same low voltage problem as Electric45mike described back in 2011.
I did the procedure you recommended to him : jumper wire "t" and "h"
Power down 10 secs, etc..
The ice maker started , the device that pushes ice out of tray started turning so I went to bed. This morning the ice tray is full but no ice had been dumped to bin.

Hello,

I have a Whirlpool model GD5RVAXVY03 and the ice maker has stopped making ice.

There is water in the door.
There is no water or ice in the ice maker.

I have replaced the ice maker still no ice.

On the water inlet solenoids the ohms are 268 on the green and 194 on the red.

LEDs are two blinking and a pause with door open. Two blinking and a pause with the left flapper closed. NO blinking with flapper closed and light switch (on the top).

From what I can tell the part that is faulty is the Ice Level Power Control Board

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rob

I have a Kitchenaid model KSSS42QMX00. I have had to clear the water fill tube a couple of times with a hair dryer and it always fixed my problem. The last time I did this the unit filled and stopped working. The LED's blink 2x and repeat regardless whether the beam is broken or not. Cubes are in the mold but harvesting will not start. What to check next?

Update 8/29/15
After putting up with no ice for a while I purchased the optics boards and replaced both.
Problem fixed! Too bad I can't get the schematics and troubleshoot the old pc boards as I'm sure the trouble is a failed transistor or bad infrared led module . . . . . . .

I have similar issues. I have a Kitchen Aid KSRI22FNWH00. We have no water coming to the icemaker. The door has water. I removed the water line from the inlet valve and blew thru it. It is clear, but has some resistance. One water valve solenoid is 162 ohms, and the other is 191 ohms. There is 121VAC to the water valve to the door when water is drawn, and 0 VAC to the other solenoid when door is closed. The freezer is -5 F, and when flipper is manually closed, I have a steady red light. I have 107 VAC between N/L and when jumping the other two, I have no action. I think I need a new ice maker part. Sound right?

When doing an optics test, I open the freezer door, close the left flipper and the light on the right side stays on. Then when I simulate the door being closed by putting my thumb over the doorlatch the right side light goes out. Is this the correct way to do an optics test. If so what does this diagnostics test tell me in my case.

Removed ice bin to fill cooler. Left ice bin out of freezer for entire day. Next day there was no ice in bin but maker had ice in it and wouldn't eject the cubes. I removed the ice maker and defrosted the ice. Now no water is entering the ice maker.

Optics are fine
Getting water on door fine
Never any issues thus far
Using a jumper on ice maker contact points did nothing but make the ice maker hum a little bit.

Defective ice maker? Short in black fused wire?

See the below manual.
You have to be careful because it covers a number of different units.

Unclick the "Download with Secured Download manager" option
Then use the grey download button.
Otherwise the site may put software on your computer that you do not want.

Download Whirlpool Icemaker Troubleshooting.pdf

If it does not fill when you manually force it.

Measure the voltage across the valve.
If it is 120 volts when forcing it.
Remove the ice maker water line at the valve and blow through it to be sure it is not frozen.
If OK then replace the valve.

My Kitchen Aid freezer double blinks, continues to double blinks when the flapper is pushed in. I can feel ice in the ice maker. The freezer intermittently has been producing ice for a few months. HELP, please.

Anyone that currently owns or plans on purchasing an ice maker should read every one of the information below. A lot of people happen to have been told the fact that they demand a water line for his or her portable Crazysales ice maker. All you need you need to do is pour water within the appliance. Another question you may have concerns how much time it can take the ice machine to help make ice. A lot of models will begin dropping ice cubes into your bin inside a few short minutes. They don’t really require more than occasional cleaning, which ensures these devices runs smoothly. It’s also wise to have a special cleaner that is made for ice machines occasionally. The ice scoop should be cleaned periodically.

I have a newer Whirlpool GSS26C4XXY00 with the ice maker AND storage bin both in the door. I too have STOPPED getting ice. No water getting to the ice maker, but its getting to the water dispenser. I replaced the solenoid valve ($76). No luck. Now I'm reading this thread and see that another cause 'could be" the LED Beam circuit board(s). Parts Pros only lists one of the boards ($249) .... the smaller one is discontinued. Cost on AMAZON for both is $300 (free shipping not available even with Amazon Prime). Oh .... and what a pain to get to .... Prying plastic tabs in a freezer is not a good feeling PLUS Whirlpool could have added an extra inch of wire to both sides to make removing the connector easier .......

OK ... parts ordered from Amazon .... will keep you posted
