How do I get the carcass or "walls" off this washer? Do I need to lift the top, or simply remove the two screws on the rear of the washer? I have a leak and ahve to get the three sided piece of metal off so I can run the washer and see where it's leaking.
Thanks in advance,
NTK

When we look up the model that you have given us it is a direct drive washer made by Whirlpool for Sears Kenmore.
Why do you think it does not apply to your model? Let us know and we can see better how to help you.
Thanks

This model is indeed made by Whirlpool, however, there are no screws in the front or back to remove the control panel. It uses two metal clips that can be pried up from under the side of the control panel. These clips snap into a hole in the carcass. Once the clips are pried up, it all hinges on a nylon connector on the back of the machine. The end caps do not come off, and the back is a single solid piece of sheet metal.
It took me a while to figure it out, and the way that I finally did was to turn the washer on its side and use a flashlight to see what held the control panel on.
All the videos on youtube indicated that there were either screws in the back or front, or the ends could easily be snapped off. My model had none of that. My model number is 110.27522600.
Thanks for pointing me to youtube, I would have never thought to look there, and it gave me some ideas on what to look for, at the very least.

Thanks very much for replying, glad you were able to get the console off.
Yours is a very unusual situation, I am wondering if you can tell us if the machine was made in the U.S. or in some other location. Your model number did not come up on the APP site, but I was able to find it on the Sears site, but I do not have any information about, so I think all who read this would appreciate any info you can give us.
Thanks
