The fridge had a burned out defrost heater and the blue wire was also severed by the burn out. I replaced the heater and spliced a new wire in yesterday and it seems that the compressor has been running constantly ever since. How long should it run before it goes into the defrost cycle? Could I have a bad thermister too? It was cycling fine before I replaced the heater, it was just frozen over. The repair guy who looked at it said he thought the main board was fine. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Check the evaporator coils, if there is an ice jam, defrost it.

It's been running for about three days and it hasn't iced over again. I think I got it. Thanks
