Tonight one of the ranges on our oven started to heat while in the off position. It is as if the knob is unaligned from control. However, there is no position in which it will turn off. When in the off position, it was registering somewhere between 1.5 and 4 as the heat range (with High = 10) and continued to click to heat up. We have to control it at the breaker to turn it off. When we turned the oven off and then on, it read ER at that range control. (Indicating it was turned on when power was cut.) Is this a known problem. Is it possible that my toddler messed with the knob and turned it out of the proper alignment or is this a larger issue. How do you advise repair on a 7 yr old appliance. Thank You in advance.

I am not sure what you mean by "one of the ranges".
If you mean one of the stove top elements then this unit may be part of a recall.
Just do a Google search
