It seemed to start when trying to pop popcorn, it starts but then stops after a few seconds. The display resets and asks to have the time etc inputted but will just reset when you go through that process. My guess is that replacing the Assembly power control module - main p/n AP2631591 should do the trick but wanted to check here before I went down that $125 road.

You have to remove the microwave from the cabinet and remove the outer case to access the part. - The part number for the magnetron is AP2025937 Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for GE JVM1650CH01 \| AppliancePartsPros.com Gene.
