I have Kenmore dryer model number 796.80272900. The drum doesn't stop spinning when the door is shut. Even if the unit is off. If you open the door, the drum stops. The dryer itself does work however at the end of the cycle the display shuts off (goes black) but the drum continues to spin. Wrinkle guard is not on. I've cut power to the unit for some time hoping this would reset the glitch with no luck. Anyone seen this behavior or know a resolution?

This issue is caused by the Electronic Control Board.

Unplugged and then opened the top of the unit up (three Philips screws in the back). Pulled all the connectors off of the electronic control board (located directly behind the Kenmore logo on the front of the unit. I tapped lightly on each of the components on the motherboard then blew on and firmly reseated all the connectors. That did it! I'm super glad that I didn't have to spend 200+ dollars for the replacement part.

Anyway, I'm just replying for the sake of future folks that may come across this thread with the same issue and save them a few bucks too.

Cheers!
