I made a mistake. I cleaned the frig...vacuuming the coils, etc. Before that, everything worked fine. Now the frig gets "mostly" cold (32 degrees, eventually) and the freezer is the same. Of course, the frzr should be at 5 degrees or so. Everything is clean, all electrical connections appear to be tight, and the frzr temp control seems to work,...at least when I turn it to the "off" position. Of course, the icemaker doesn't work either. But I think that is as a result of not being cold enuf. The freezer fan motor seems to make a lot of noise, but I think that is a separate issue. The shaft seems to be a little loose, therefore causing a vibration. Looks like a new motor is in order for that. But I can't figure out the temperature problem.

Make sure the fan at the coils you cleaned is running.
Check the coils behind the back cover in the freezer for icing.
The freezer fan slipping or not running correct speed could cause the cooling problem.

All fans running normally. Only the one for the freezer is noisy and its speed does not seem to be affected. No frost/ice on the freezer cooling fins.

There should be some frost forming on the evaporator coils in the freezer. If not it could be low on freon.

OK! Finally got new freezer fan and installed. No change. Coils/fins for freezer not frosting up. I hate ask this question...is there a kit to recharge the coolant? Your last message indicated that the freon may be low.
Thanks.

No, finding the leak and recharging the system is not a do it yourself job.
