My whirlpool LSN1000HQ0 gets to the spin cycle, and starts to drain, but doesn't spin. If I open and close the lid, while it is draining, it will start to spin. I have already replaced the timer. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm having the exact same problem with the exact same model washer. Were you ever able to resolve this?

This is normal unless it never goes into spin. Directly after agitation stops, the washer should drain for 2 minutes without spinning. The motor must then pause for a few seconds and start again at which point it should start spinning while continuing to drain. If there is no pause of the motor, the timer is bad. You are pausing the motor by opening/closing the lid.
