When the dryer is turned on the timer does not advance and there is no heat. Is the problem with the control timer or is it something else ?

Is that timer not advancing in auto-dry only or both auto and timed dry?

Check for 240vac at the dryer receptacle. Should also have it at dryer power cord connection block. Check connections there for broken/burned wires. Dryer motor runs off of 120vac, timer and heater use 240vac. If good, unplug dryer, check continuity between power plug L-2 blade and timer OR terminal (L-1 goes to timer BK terminal). With timer on in timed dry you should have continuity between timer OR and TM as well as between BU and BK.

All checks out. Replaced the timer. Still no heat and the timer does not advance.

Turn timer on to timed dry cycle. Do not press start button. Does timer advance without motor running? It should. If not, you have a wiring problem or your not getting 240vac to dryer.
