I have a GE Profile range - model PGB918SEM4SS. It is about 2 1/2 years old. I have been having an issue occur on and offfor a couple months. Occasionally when Iwould turn on the surface burner the digital display time would go out and needto be reset. Then recently the displaywent blank when the surface burner was turned on. I was told the Oven Range Control was goingout and needed to be replaced. I ordereda GE Stove Oven Range Control Glass Touch WB27K10176. In the mean time I was able to get thedigital display to come back on by unplugging the power cord and then pluggingback in. The new Control unit arrivedtoday. I installed it and it seemed towork just fine. Then I turned on thesurface burner, and you guessed it, the digital display went out. I cannot even get it to come back even byunplugging and plugging back in.

Now what?

OK, so I think I figured out the original issue. I plugged the electical plug from the oven into a different wall outlet and the digital display has been fine now.

Now my issue is the oven will not light. I suspect the oven gas shut off valve is not in the correct position. I have tried it in two different positions yet the oven still will not light. Is there some photo or diagram that shows the correct ON position for this switch? I can not tell what is ON and what is OFF and what is switch position that is something other than ON or OFF.

I do have gas because surface burners light and work fine.
