Hi, I recently replaced the LCD panel on my Thermador SC272TW double convection oven. The reason for the replacement was because the LCD panel was becoming very dim and hard to read. I ordered the $200+ part from thermador and they sent me a new LCD panel along with a circuit board. I took the oven out of the wall and threw the breaker so I could get to the wires. It took a little time labeling the 15 wires or so that connected to the circuit board but I wanted to make sure I was placing the correctly on the new board. After replacing the board the LCD panel was easy (just 3 multi pinned connectors).
After everything was connected and ready to go I threw the breaker back on. The clock came up nice and bright and I figured I fixed the problem until about 30secs later an "-F7-" displayed where the time is usually shown along with loud beeps. No touch buttons on the glass panel were working and the only way to stop the beeps was to throw the breaker again.
I opened my manual to learn that the F7 error means that something or someone is against a button on the from panel for 32secs. It recommended turning the power off for 3mins then turning back on to reset the system (same error occurred after about 30secs). If that doesn't work they tell you to schedule a service appointment.
I would really hate to schedule an appointment at this point because of how many hours I put into this. Does anyone have any advice for me? I know it's not the new circuit board because I put the old one back in and the same error occurred. I looked around for any wires that could be shorting each other out and couldn't find anything. Please help! Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I'm also having the same issue. I replaced the dispay and relay board, but now I can't get rid of the F7 code. My relay board replaced the ribbon cable with a multiple conductor assembly with connectors that mate to the old ribbon connector on the touch screen. I'm wondering if others with this same problem also have this conversion from the ribbon cable.

It's a glass touch screen with nothing touching or binding. I don't know how to check anything beyond that.

It turns out the problem is with the touch panel (replaced it with the LCD display and relay board). There is a jumper on the back of the panel, under the lower oven self clean button, that extends through a hole in the chassis. The jumper is relocated slightly on the new panels and ends up in contact with the chassis. Remove the sheet metal chassis panel (just a few screws) and open the hole up on the bottom side by 1/4". Everything is fine after that.

Thanks for the valuable information. Got the same error and was able to identify the problem. In my case, I had connected both the long pin connector and the small jumper cable connector through the same opening on the metal plate. Thanks to your suggestion, I checked and by moving the jumper cable (the one with the four small squares) through the smaller opening the pressure on the control panel no longer occurred and got rid of the error F7
