ok so my ice maker stopped making ice so I looked up u-tube videos and figured to start with the water valve. bought the part and replaced. didn't solve the prob. took off new part and put on old part. bought the ice maker and replaced it. I hear the water fill up but after 18 hours no ice. I rolled the refrigerator out and there is water on the ground. any ideas on what it might be... im thinking the line might be frozen and maybe I didn't secure the water connection on the valve? will the water spurt out of the line is frozen with a proper connection? Thanks in advance..

Mike oh and the brand is lg.. the drop down menu did not have that

If you remove the line from the water valve that feeds the ice maker, can you blow through it, verifying the fill tube to the ice maker is clear?

That is likely your only problem, the water cannot get to the ice maker. Thaw the fill tube and you should be good to go!

I now can blow threw the line but noticed the tube was loose on the compression fitting to the water line on the water valve. When I took it off originally I pulled real hard till it came off and im sure I messed it up so now I have ordered a new one.. I didn't realize you need to push down on the ring like thing to release it. your advice s greatly appreciated ninja, Thank you...

Those fittings are called Guest fittings, named for their inventor, John Guest. The washer you push on releases the "teeth" that secure the hose into the valve when installed. Sorry I did not mention that. You should be good to go once you get that new valve, nice work!
