I have a GD25SFXHS01 side by side refrigerator. A few days ago, I noticed it was not running cold, the lights were on but the compressor and fan were not. I turned the temperature knobs etc but nothing helped at the time. The next morning, I noticed it was working again. It ran fine for 5-6 days until last night when the same thing happened. Compressor was not running and wasn't hot. We unplugged & plugged it, turned the temp knobs, cleaned the fins etc but nothing helped. About an hour later, we heard the compressor/fan come back on.
This morning, it was not cooling again. Went through the whole routine of plugging/unplugging, turning knobs, shaking the fridge etc but it has not started up all day. Tried tapping the cold control knob as well. Trying to figure out what part could be the problem & if it is worth fixing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Remove the control panel plastic overlay and remove the screws, then remove the back ones and let the control panel hang. Try taping on the cold control or adaptive defrost board to isolate the problem. You also can try disconnecting, then connecting the power plug.

Hi, it does seem to come back on when I tap the temperature control knobs on the front top part of the fridge but not when I tap on the cold control. What part do you think needs replacing? Thanks.

You need to pull the control panel to isolate problem, just might be a burnt wire in the plug.
