The washer turns on and acts like it is working. It begins its usual tumble-lock-unlock-lock-begins to dispense water but stops short. Then it will pause itself. I unpause it, it may tumble once-then nothing-then pause itself. The timer continues to run. What is wrong?

Hi Sew

Take off the front lower panel and you will find some tech sheets in there which will take you through a troubleshooting/diagnosis routine.

You may not find anything wrong from this, in which case I suspect the problem is in your door latch/lock assembly, but this is only suspicion on my part based on experience with these machines. If you cannot determine any other problems you may want to replace the door lock assembly as a good possiblity, but you will not be certain that will fix it.

Good luck, let us know what you find out.

The spec sheets were not there. Is there anywhere else I can get these? We son't want to replace the control panel if that is not the issue.

Here is the service manual for your machine. It will show you how to enter the test mode and trouble shoot the machine.

Hopefully this will give you some guidance.

Good luck.

Wanted to thank you for the tech manual,I am a toyota tech and knew I could fix the washer if I had a tech manual and yours helped greatly.I had the same problem of it not washing after start and timer going down and found that the water valve was not filling with hot water.I went through the test ,as in the manual , and found the hot water was not filling up.I started a load in cold and it ran fine.I just wanted to say thanks for the manual.

The old link above did not work. Looking to address lock unlock pause issue. The pump filter was clogged but cleaning it didnt resolve the issue. Thank you!
