Tonight I opened the oven door and all seemed fine until I tried to close it. it stopped at the broil stop position. I pushed harder a few times then it finally closed, but with an odd feel and sounds. The door does appear to close all the way.

I spent a couple hours searching the internet, much of that on THIS web site. I downloaded the User and Installation manuals from www.JennAir.com so I could let the computer search for keywords such as door, hinge, etc. but did not find anything useful, not even instructions for how to remove the door (no hinge latches).

Does this sound like a hinge or receptacle problem? Or something else? I'd really rather not take the door apart and/or order parts on a wild guess.

We purchased the range brand new in 1999 so it's 14 years old. The only other problem we had resulted in the circuit board for the control panel being replaced under warrantee.

Without actually being there I cannot say.
If the part of the hinge which connects to the receptacle is solidly attached then I would say that the receptacle is OK.
Does sound more like a hinge problem.
The odds that it is something else are very slim.

the first thing I would do is remove the door and re-install it.
