Hello Friends, Thank you for coming in this thread. There is a QUESTION for you. Dryer repair question? I have a 2 year old dryer that I turned on one day and it immediately stopped after 5 seconds. I cannot start it by turning the switch but I can start it by hand by spinning the drum with the door button pushed down (it works I swear). Once I get it running by hand it still does not produce heat. It is not a fuse or outlet problem because it can still run. Does anyone have any idea of what part needs to be replaced? I think it might just need a new switch because it not only starts the drum but it also turns on the heating element. This would explain why it does not heat up when I get it going by hand. One thing to check is that the motor is not clogged solid with lint. This can stop the mechanical device in the motor from activating the switches. |
