My Whirlpool Gold dishwasher is draining as fast as it is filling with water, so there is never any water left when any cycle begins! Any ideas?

That sounds like impossible. Dishwashers never fill and drain at the same time like a clothes washer does. OK maybe somehow the power never shuts off on the drain pump. It's probably the computer chip which means to replace the whole electronic board at about $100. That's where the power is coming from.

My drain does not go into the disposal, and found out that the drain needs to loop higher than the float or it will drain. Problem solved! Thanks for your reply though!
