(age is unknown, I live in an apartment).
The long and the short of it is, I was trying to move this super-heavy oven to get something from behind it and I stupidly used the oven door as a handhold. The left side (if you are looking at the oven) came off. It looks like it should be very easy to put back- there are two inset metal bars on the frame that correspond with two hooks on the door hinge, but I can't seem to make it work. I have tried pushing it back in with all my might (as I seemed to be able to get it out with all of my might), but that didn't work. I have googled this but haven't gotten a very good description as to how to put this back on. I just moved into this apartment and really don't want to have to call the landlord for such a stupid repair! Help!

I cannot find any info on the given model number.
Please check it.
I tried here and the Whirlpool site.
The door removal procedure should be in the operators manual. |

Whoops, sorry about that. Correct number is RF315PXKB. I wish I had an owners manual but I believe it is with the owner (landlord) unfortunately! Thank you so much for replying!

This is great and would be really helpful if I had removed the oven door properly (using the pins).... But I pretty much yanked it off. Any ideas on getting the hinge back in position so I can put it on with these directions?

You will have to get the pins (bolts or whatever you have that will fit in the holes) in position.
This may take two people, one to hold the door.
Lay the door face down on a blanket on a table etc. so it is flat.
Then use a screw driver to engage a hinge slot and set the hinge to the removal position and install the pin
You may end up having the use vice grips on it just be careful to not damage the hinge. |
