I have a Kenmore dryer model 110.68622700. It won't shut off at the end of the cycle. The only way to turn it off is to open the door. The timer dial turns as it runs, but when it gets to "off" it just keeps going into the next cycle. Same thing if I just turn the dial by hand. I can hear a click when it goes through "off" but it just keeps running. We just moved to a new house, so I suppose something could have been knocked loose during the move. The heating element looks ok (and it heats properly). I have a multimeter, and have checked continuity between a few points (the continuity is interrupted in the "off" position in the points I checked), but I'm not sure exactly which points I should be checking. Any help troubleshooting is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Here are your parts Parts for Kenmore Dryer 11068622700 - AppliancePartsPros.comSee the attachment for the wiring diagram, has a timer chart. Unplug the unit and set the timer to off. Then check the BU to BK at the timer, should be infinite ohms. Also the Timer Switch 0 (WB to GY), also should be infinite ohms. Be sure to remove the wire/s from one side of the contact connection when measuring. This ensures that you are not reading an alternate/parallel circuit path. Strange that it started right after a move as the symptoms point more towards a shorted circuit than a short to the frame. |

Thanks for the help. BU to BK is infinite ohms, but WB to GY is 0 ohms. Does that mean it's a bad timer?

Yes that looks like there is a timer problem.
It is strange that the unit/motor keeps running but it could be that the Timer switch 0 off position is so short that the motor never comes to a complete stop so when the timer keeps running it just keeps going. |

You are welcome.
And thanks for getting back to us. Now when others search for a similar problem they will see what actually worked instead of just suggestions about what could be the cause. |
