My Whirlpool ice maker stopped working, the refrigerator light went out and the control panel was out. I soldered a jump wire on the circuit board which fixed the light and the control board. I replaced the ice maker and the water inlet valve. The water line is not clogged. The infrared receiver blinks twice then solid when I close the flap. If I fill the ice maker manually with water, it freezes and dumps the ice but will not refill with water. I am at a loss.

Hi.

It's not clear from your post if the water line into the icemaker is not frozen.
Also, do you have water at the water dispenser?

Most likely you should replace the main control board.
If you order any parts from APP you may return them back no questions asked. If the new board will work you may return the icemaker and the water valve.

Here are thew breakdown diagrams and http://www.appliancepartspros.c...irlpool-gs5shaxnl00.html

Post the results.

Simon.

The water line is not frozen. Water dispenses from the door. I switched contacts on the water inlet valve and it filled the ice maker with water when I pushed the water dispenser in the frig door. Are you talking about the circuit board?

Yes.
Most likely it's the main board.

Simon.
