Hello

I have repaired this Kenmore series 90 dryer 4 times now in the past few weeks. Here is a quick recap.

1 The high limit fuse blew. I took it apart and found the dryer clogged with lint. Cleaned it out completely -- from intake at the heating element to outside vent -- and replaced the fuse (but not the other part that came with it)

2 Fuse blows again. This time I replace both parts figuring that not replacing the other part was a mistake.

3 Fuse blows again. I replace the the cycling thermostat, the high limit fuse, and the other cycling thermostat not located on the heating element.

4 Fuse blows again. This time I replace the high limit fuse, cycling thermostat and the heating element even though it tested at 10.4 ohms. [When I jumped the high limit fuse and watched the element heat up it did not appear evenly red so I figured maybe the element was the real problem.]

The belt broke (no doubt because I had pulled out the drum so many times) and I replaced it.

The fuse has blown once again. This time I rechecked the entire path for blockage -- there is none. I ran the dryer and the flow is strong through the outside vent. It is a short 5-6 foot solid duct with two 90's to the outside.

I am at a loss as to what to try next. What else could it be if there is no blockage and if both cycling thermostats and the heating element were replaced?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I finally gave up and bought another dryer.

I never really found out what was wrong with it.

Sorry I cannot be of more help. Good luck with yours.
