I had to replace the felt slide on my dryer, and when I put it back together I ran a screw through one of the wires that go to the main control panel. The dryer made a pop noise when I started it, that is when I saw the problem. I spliced the wire back together and now the dryer works normal, Except it runs all the time the door is closed. If I open the door it stops, but as soon as I close it, the dryer starts running even if there is no time set.
Is the board shot?

Yes, it does sound like the control board (item 1 in Control/Top Panel Parts section) is toast.
