When turned on Microwave heats first run then fan runs and heat never starts again. From what I've read on here sounds like magnatron. Removed from wall tested magnatron, diode, and capacitor with ohm meter.capacitor spiked then dropped like was said to .diode tested dropping in one direction. magnetron ohm reading was .2 to .4 . and had tone when done continuity test.wondering if there is something else i can check?thanks

Hi.

It could be the magnetron, but first check if there is 120VAC across the transformer primary winding (thicker winding with two contacts). Take the plug off the transformer and using the multimeter check the voltage. If there is 120VAC across the plug - replace the magnetron. If not - check the door switches and control board power relay.

Here are the breakdown diagrams and 01-Base / Internal Controls parts for Maytag MMV5165BAS - AppliancePartsPros.com

Post the results.

Simon.

Tested voltage on plug from magnetron.Read .034 volts and steady drop to nothing. Does that rule out the magnetron? How can I test door switches, and can I test control board power relay with continuity tester? Thanks

Did you actually check the voltage at the magnetron plug or it's just a typo?

Simon.
