Over the past 6 weeks our Jenn-Air convection oven has not been heating up. We have used the self-clean option in the past (maybe 5xs total in the past 10 yrs.). About a month ago it wouldn't heat up at all so we turned the power off, then back on and that seemed to jump start it. But today I tried to bake something at 350F. It took an hour to get the temp up to just 346F, and to get it to go up to that temp I had to program the temp for 450F.
Do you think this sounds like we need to replace the heating element?

It doesn't look like correct model number. Please check again.
Does the bake ielement gets red hot?

Excuse my totaly ignorance on the terminology (ha, ha), but is the bake ignitor the apparatus behind the circular honeycomb-like plate at the back of the oven? If so, then no, it does not appear to get red hot like it used to, sadly. Does that sound like a bake ignitor issue?
The broil coils still get red hot, but not the other apparatus.

Do we need to take that circular plate off at the back of the oven to peek at the equipment behind it? Is that the bake ignitor?

Hi. Sorry, made a mistake without the model number it's the element not the ignitor. My question is: does the bake element and convection element get hot? The convection element comes as an assembly with the fan motor. If only convection bake doesn't work, you need to check if there is 240VAC coming to it or sometimes just visually you can determine if it's bad. To get access to the convection element you do need to remove the cover (honeycomb). Part number: W10206587

Thank you for the great information! I have an update and wondered if it would change the advice and/or the part that we need to order. I generally only bake in convection mode. Today, just for grins, I choose the regular bake cycle and my oven heats up beautifully in the "bake" mode. The heating element behind the honeycomb cover @ the back of the oven glows red.
Apparently, it is only convection mode that isn't working? Does this change the part number we need to order?

Hi. If you read my previous post you should notice that I didn't tell you to replace the convection element, I suggested you to test it first. Another question: does the convection fan runs? OK, if you are absolutely sure the convection element gets red hot and convection fan runs - you need to replace control board Part number: 74009716

Apologizing before I ask what is probably a goofy question, but:
**How do I know if the convection fan is running? **
Is that what I hear when I turn the oven on? Or can I test the fan?

Hi.
The convection fan blows air inside the oven when the oven is on.When you open the door it's stops.

Hi Simon,
So we finally got around to fixing the oven...had someone verify that it was the control board that needed to be replaced. Replaced that, now the oven works great! BUT the convection oven does not work now. It took 55 minutes for the oven to reach 350 degrees in convect mode. So I guess we need to replace the convection element. {Growl} Is that an easy part to install?
