First of all check if there is 240VAC to the dryer's connector block.Use the multimeter to be sure it's 240V to the dryer. Unplug the dryer, set the timer to timed-regular, open control panel, locate the timer contacts C and A. Remove red wire from the A and check continuity between C (BLK) - A (R). If it's open - replace the timer Part number: W10185982
Post the results. Simon.

Should the red and black wires pull out easily? I have a 4 wire harness attached to my timer? should I pull off the entire plug or should the wire pull out of the plug?

Hi.
Pull the harness out.Remember, you are checking the timer contacts not the harness.
