My ice maker stopped working suddenly. I have read some of the other responses so I went ahead and closed the flapper and the LED light stayed on solid red. Do I need to have a repair person come here? I am clueless to try to fix this thing on my own.

If this is a sxs model, you may have a lack of voltage the the icemaker. The optics seem ok, but there is probably a wire problem as this is a common failure for these. Confirmation would involve measuring the voltage to the icemaker (the black and white wires) while the flapper is pushed in.
