I have a Sears Coldspot Upright Freezer that is about 40 + years old. Runs well but I have been developing a problem lately. The inside is really frosting up along the door frame and inside to the point where it looks like it is snowing inside. It takes about three days before the shelves start to get encassed in ice. My suspicion is that the seal around the door is not closing and letting warm air in and that is causing the problem. Please advise and also let me know where I can look for the plate for the serial number and model number.

This may help find the model number

Sounds like a door seal.
Take dollar bill and place it between the seal and the units body, then pull it out to see if the seal is OK. Work your way around the door.

Sometimes the deal on the hings side can stick when closing causing a leak.
A common fix for this is to put a light coat of white lithium grease on the hinge side so it can close properly.

I am having the same problem with my Coldspot freezer. I did the dollar bill test and it pulls out easily. Where can I find a gasket/seal to fit the model 106 720124?

I think that the following is the part that you need.
Click on the picture for more info on the part.
Part number: AP5647874
Part number: AP5647874

Looks like it is out of stock.
It is best to call the parts people at AppliancePartsPros as they have a lot more info about parts than I do.
