My cooktop had intermittent electric spark ignition for some weeks, but now appears to work 95% of the time. When it was worse, I bought another (original not available, WH-6520) spark module (Frig.), but it still would only spark to start gas flame about half the time. I cleaned, checked continuity, and returned to original module. Gradually it started to work better until now 3 to 4 weeks later, it now works about 95%..?! Nobody could figure out what happened?! Now, I'm interested in possibly purchasing a new, more modern, gas cooktop, because my (new) wife cooks so much. My question is: The label on the Chambers cooktop says about 7000 BTU per burner (4). Would it be appreciably better to have an inexpensive (~$600) Kenmore gas cooktop if it has one simmer (500-5000BTU) burner, three 9,500BTU burners, and one 14,500BTU burner? This cooktop (Kenmore 32244) was on sale at $519.. . and suddenly, when I got interested, it popped up to $617! Thanks, Jim (559) 240-4612
P.S. I have American Home Shield homeowners insurance, but they won't fix an intermittent problem! So, they won't help with the problem .. or pay at all toward a new one. I don't know why these cooktops are so expensive? The average must be at least $1200 or $1300!?

This cooktop looks good in this price range and 5 burners with different output give your wife versatile food preparation.

Hi: I know it has been a while since you posted. Still have your Chambers cooktop? I'd buy it for parts if you're thinking of replacing it. pauldelucchi@earthlink.net. Thank you.
