Hey everyone, I am new here... I come to you with an issue with my GE oven.

I was unable to locate an exact product # on my oven but I did take a few pictures of the inside of it.

The issue is that the other night I turned my oven on to preheat it. About 15 minutes later I went to put my food in it and I noticed a smell of natural gas. Apparently, the oven never ignited itself and the gas was just leaking into my place.

I noticed that at the bottom of the oven a glow occurs when I turn the oven on. However, it never gets hot and the gas never catches fire.

Any idea what I need to replace? I can provide additional info as needed.

Edit: When I try to put the two URL's into this thread that link to the pictures a bunch of ************ are added to the URL and its no longer valid. Any ideas?

Hi.

Most likely you need to replace the bake ignitor.
You should either get the model number of the oven or the picture of the ignitor.

Where are the model #'s generally located? Is this typically an expensive part?

I think I took a picture of the ignitor, but, the site doesnt allow me to link them in... Could I email them to you?

Go to Appliance Parts Pros.com.

Click on the "How to find the model number" in the center.

My model # is 317b6641p001 by GE.

Do you have a link to the ignitor I need to purchase?

Hi.

The model number you posted is incorrect, but here are two most common ignitors for GE ovens:

Part number: WB2X9998
Part number: WB2X9998

Part number: WB2X9154
Part number: WB2X9154

Good luck.

Simon.
