I have a dryer that I replaced the heating element on about 6 months ago. It's been working fine up until this past wekkend when it shut down during a run cycle. It was so hot I could smell a slight "electrical fire" type odor. The dryer seems to be overheating and shutting off. After it cools down, I am able to restart but this is a problem that I hope someone can help me with. There's probably a temperature switch that's gone bad. Please help.
Thanks, Ron

Hi Ron, Remove the wires from the heating element and check for continuity between each of its terminals and the ground. If there is continuity, replace the heating element. - The heating element Part number: 3387747
Make sure the dryer exhaust line is absolutely clean, the air flow is not obstructed and the vent hose behind the dryer is not twisted and/or kinked. Gene.
