Hi.
Remove the vent hose from the dryer and run one load. If that doesn't make any difference - replace the hi-limit thermostat.
Simon.

Simon. Went to test it today, and now the gas won't come on at all. Took the wires off the high limit thermostat on the burner duct and checked for continuity -- the switch is closed at room temperature. With everything hooked up, the ignitor comes on for 8 seconds, then it shuts off. What can be wrong? What else to check?

Hi. If the ignitor cycling on/off but there is no gas - replace the control coils Part number: 279834
There is a small chance that the gas valve is bad and cause the coils damage but consider the price try the coils first. Simon.
