I should have sent it back the first week. Supposedly this has 2500# ram force. In reality, it has all the trash stomping power of an anorexic Sugar Plum Fairy doing an Irish jig on the trash. Does anybody know of an adjustment on these to increase the ram force? My old Kenmore ( made by Whirlpool) would crush cement blocks. This thing wouldn't snap a matchstick.

Per the Tech sheet (attached to the post) Quote:...Ram stops 7" (180mm) above bottom of container. No noticeable compaction will occur until container is 1/2 full... Gene.

I have been using a compactor for 40 years. I know that it needs to be full to actually compact. This thing could be loaded with fresh eggs all the way to the top and would only crack a dozen. The question was "How do I increase the pressure?" not how much trash should be in it?

As far as I know no one trash compactor for last 40 years makes no provision for such adjustments.
Gene.
