I have a Frigidaire FEF368CCSD. Stove top and clock are fine, when i try to bake, broil or pre-heat the oven, the temp display reads 100 for a few seconds then it seemingly gives up and the display lights go out.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Greg

Hi Greg,

Most likely the problem is a bad oven control board. I'm not sure what color is the keypad on your oven but the only control board still available is almond.

I have a Frigidaire Professional oven, made by Electrolux. Model PLEFM399DCD. Turning on the broil yesterday, I heard a "pfffft". Now the broil and bake elements do not heat. Everything else works fine. No errors on the control display. Using the posts on this forum, especially from user 'rjblumii' (Thanks!) and the service document from the link above, I found that one pin of the L2 switching relay vaporized its solder joint on the control board. The only thing this relay does is switch the second hot leg for these two elements. I cleaned it up, then soldered a thick jumper from the burned relay leg to the pins for the spade connector. Works fine. No need to buy a new control board if you can solder.

hi all, my oven has similar issue with the display except that it fails intermittently. usually, but not always, when the oven is hot & lately when the stove top back burners have been used. the display has always returned. sometimes immediately with a push of the buttons or a nudge/shake of the upper piece, other times it is out for an extended time. it seems as though there is a faulty connection. the problem started after a self cleaning cycle.
the back panel has been removed & all wires seem to be in great condition (visual & wiggle inspection). are there any other spots where wires may be accessed & inspected? would like to be certain that replacing the control unit will solve the issue before purchasing the unit.

Very likely there are a hairline cracks in the control board and the correction is to replace it. You may want to order the new overly too because it is glued on and it's very easy to damage it during removal and reinstallation.

Hey Gene you seem to be the man. I purchased a resale home that has a fed367cese. Cooktop works broil works. Bake does not. Opened up back and did not see the reset button mentioned on other posts. Did notice that where the temp sensing probe came through the back the insulation was sort of burned. Thought about replacing that as well as the bake element. See that you say that the eoc in alot of cases is bad. My screen is marginally readable at best. If i start replacing all these parts seems like it might be cheaper to buy a new range. Any thoughts? Thanks Kyle

Hi Kyle,

Thank you for your good words.

The problem in your situation can be a bad Bake heating element or and/or a bad EOC. In order to determine it you have to have a simple multimeter to check the Bake element for continuity and verify proper voltage to this heating element. Let us know when you will be ready.
