I come home today and my son said that the oven would not preheat. It has worked just fine until today. Some web searches makes me think that the ignitor has went out. I took the bottom off and see the ignitor.

However, after searching the part online I see that it is $78. I'm wondering how I can test to be sure the ignitor is bad. I'd hate to spend the money and it be the wrong part. Any suggestions? Is there an ignitor up in the broiler that I can swap down to the bottom to test?

Unplug the igniter and check it for continuity. If it reads open, replace the igniter.

Unplug the igniter and measure the voltage to the igniter at the plug while the control calls for Bake. If the reading is about 120 VAC, replace the igniter.

If the reading is incorrect, post the results and we will proceed further.

I finally tested that igniter and I think it and the power plug to it are testing correctly. I unplugged the igniter and the plug to the igniter shows 123V when the oven is on bake. And the igniter shows ".22" when I'm on the 20k setting on the tester, "223" on the 2000, and nothing on the 200 setting. I couldn't tell what number I should be on when reading the "how test test continuity" post on this site. Does my results sound like both parts are testing correctly?

If so, what's my next step?

The readings you posted are much higher than it suppose to be. That means the igniter is bad and has to be replaced.

OK...great! I'll get that ordered and replaced then. Thanks for confirming the igniter is bad.
