Freezer just stopped working. Alarm went off and high temp light came on. Nothing worked except the interior light when you opened the door. I just replaced the control electronic assy. which I ordered from you. As soon as I plugged the part into the top of the door, everything started working again. I thought it was fixed. However, I did notice the temperature display would read 87 to 92 degrees and the high temperature light was still on (It wasn't that warm in my basement). The display temperature never went down and the freezer never stops running (It actually went to minus 20 degrees per my hand thermometer). Do you think I received a defective controller AP4981913 or do you think I have another problem? Ed J.

Sounds like the problem is a bad thermistor (inside the freezer, behind the back panel). You can check it by measuring its resistance. The normal reading is about 10K ohms at the room temperature. - The thermistor Part number: 297018400

My freezer is doing the same thing as we speak. Just changed the thermistor and temp is still displaying 90 to 93 degrees. Any suggestions? I have already changed the control panel. Frigidiare model ffh17f7hw. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Did you measure the real temperature inside the freezer?
Does the compressor work?

Hey Gene. No I did not but the contents in the freezer are frozen/starting to freeze. The compressor does work. I even ran the freezer without a thermistor and the temp read the same 93 degrees. I'm stomped at this point.

Remove the thermistor. Put it in a glass of iced water. Set your ohmmeter on a highest scale and measure the thermistor resistance after it was there for at least 10 minutes. Post the results.
When did you replace the control board? What is the part number of the control board you installed?

I replaced the control board three days ago. Part no. 297241900. The model is B. I will post results in about 30 minutes.

Paul,
Frigidaire had redesigned this control board and changed the part number to 297366300. If you bought the old version of the control board then it could be the cause of the problem.

My apologies Gene. That part number you referenced is the one I have. When I set multimeter to 200k it reads 28.6 in iced water.

Hi Paul,
Disconnect the connector at the control board and measure the resistance across the black and red wires. Using a refrigerator thermometer, measure the temperature inside the freezer at that time. Post the results.
