My freezer constantly makes a high pitched hum. If I turn the freezer knob to 0 it stops but as soon as it's put back on it starts making noise again.

The noise is probably coming for the evaporator fan.

I have the EXACT same problem. High pitch hum, but when I turn down the freezer knob it will go off. Does anyone else know if it is the evaporator fan, or something else?

The noise is ice on the fan. A new fan will coninue to make the same noise. Ask me how I know?

I have ruled out water from the ice maker as I turned the supply off 2 months ago. So the next cause of excessive ice may be from a faulty door seal or something on the fridge side?

I"m going to let Sears throw money at it until the 4 year warantee is up. Then its toast!

Three service calls since I bought it 9 months ago! This will be fun:D
