Try turning the drum by hand. Should turn fairly easily.
This may take 2 people Open the door Manually hold the door switch closed Push the start button and manually rotate the drum in the correct direction. Watch your knuckles in case it starts up. If it does start up, odds are high that you need a new motor. |

I tried that and it only made that buzzing noise for a second and then it even stop that after the second try so is that the motor and if so is this something that i can repair on my own if i buy the part.

I tried that and it only made that buzzing noise for a second and then it even stop that after the second try so is that the motor As long as the drum turned fairly easily by hand the odds are high it is the motor. What happens is the motor is trying to start and cannot. It heats up and trips it's internal thermal cutout. Then you get nothing. and if so is this something that i can repair on my own if i buy the part You did not have a Model Number so I could not look up the part for you. As long as you have some mechanical ability and a few tools it is not an overly difficult job. Here is a link that should help. http://www.applianceaid.com/dryers.html |
