I have GE side by side refrigerator model**GSS201EPJBB and unable to get crushed ice,** Cubes or water when the dispenser is pushed, there are no sounds at all when the dispenser is pressed. I went ahead and removed the dispenser system in order to expose the solenoid that opens the ice shoot, thinking it may be a bad solenoid, after taking the solenoid out and examined it, **I noticed it had 14.1 **DC volts stamped on the body telling me it needs 14 volts to pull the plunger down to open the ice shoot. To make a long story short, I had nothing around the house with a power sauce of 14 volts in order to check it out, the best idea I thought of was my car battery with 12 volts, Hu ray it worked, so the solenoid open fine, back to the drawing board. My next approach was to check how many volts was coming out of the circuit board terminal that feeds the solenoid plug, my reading (if I was reading it right, being that my meter was set to DC volts) showed only 4.7 volts. Question : **Do appliances have **DC and AC current, being that the frig is plugged into a 120 v outlet. ? Being that I found 4.7 volts on the output side of the board, I checked the input side of the board and found 13.7 volts coming in. **Question: Do you think this could be a bad circuit in the board and cause the solenoid not to open ? **Question : **If the solenoid dosen't open can this cause the auger not to turn ? **my auger does not turn either, **when calling for ice. Another thing that is happening, that might lead you to a better diagnosis and answer, is when I depress the glass dispenser it shuts off the refrigerator fan, motor or compressor, though **I'm not sure of which one, and caused the refrigerator to defrost.

Yes the freezer door was closed while I checked both sides of the circuit board, input and output. Input showed 13.7v output showed 4.7v. Small dispenser micro switch was checked for continuity, checked out good, current from my meter flowed thru when switch was pressed.
